How To Participate

Trading & Auction

 

All relevant coffee industry stakeholders can be admitted to participate at the Auction in different roles. This will require the interested persons to provide the required documents by the Exchange, while guests shall be allowed to pay visits within the working hours. 

 

  1. MARKETING AGENTS & BUYERS

    - A valid traders license issued by the Coffee Directorate. 

    - To pay a registration fee which is determined by the traders’ auction performance, if not participated at the auction before, the entry fee for a new buyer is Ksh 50,000 per year and a new Marketing Agent is Ksh 75,000 per year. 

    - Coffee buyers wishing to collect a trading/marketing sample from our sample room are required to make a deposit amount that serves as a security for the period the buyer is admitted for trading. The deposit amount is refundable when the trader ceases to do business with us. The 250g sample is charged monthly ((Sample fees), and the rate may vary from month to month depending on fluctuating variables 

    - Auction levy for both players is charged monthly for the coffee bought at the auction. 

       
  2. GROWERS (CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES/ESTATES) AND OTHERS

    All growers will require to submit personal information. The following details will be captured; Names, National ID, Telephone number, Email address, County, Town, Acreage, Number of coffee trees, Postal Address, Name of the co-operative society/Estate. 

    A grower will pay a registration fee of Ksh 20,000 per year. 

    Growers can view: 

    a) Winning bids from a live auction 

    b) Historical information – Coffees previously auctioned 

    c) Coffee bulks 

    d) Auction Catalogues 

    e) Personal Information 

    f) Auction reports
