The Trade Department at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange (NCE) facilitates transparent, efficient, and compliant coffee trading while upholding the highest quality standards. The department serves as the central link between growers, brokers, buyers, and regulators, supporting fair market practices, effective price discovery, and stakeholder confidence within the coffee trading ecosystem.
Core responsibilities
- Managing the Central Sample Room and overseeing the custody and distribution of coffee samples.
- Coordinating and supporting weekly coffee auctions to ensure smooth, fair, and transparent trading processes.
- Overseeing settlement of coffee sales proceeds and ensuring timely settlement finality.
- Disseminating accurate and timely market information to stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with trading rules, regulations, and industry standards.
- Promoting market integrity, transparency, and operational efficiency within the auction system.
